The mission of our organization:
-
Helping the wellbeing of families with small chilren,
fighting the socialization handicap of small children,
improving equal opportunity.
What we do to acheive this:
-
Setting up sustainable family-friendly cervices (family
day care) and thus creating local workplaces.
-
Opreating these family day care centers in a
cost-efficient network system.
-
Offering the necessary traning for this type of
activity.
The critical problems/challenges, that our organization
is working to adress:
-
Serious economic problems: as nonprofit organization we
do not receive any duty preferences, even
though many employees had previously been unemployed. We
do not receive any support from the state for the new
workplaces that we create. We have to save up for the
wages, fees, and duties, in such a way that we have to
organize social care within market conditions.
-
Even though we offer a service obligatory for local
governments (day care for children), and even though we
are working very cost-efficiently, we have been facing
total rejection from the part of several local
governments (even though they are unable to fulfill the
task, meaning there is no such service in the
settlement: day crèche, playhouse, etc.). We often face
indifference: “what we do not discuss, that does not
exist!”
-
The socialization of parents also often causes problems:
it is difficult to make them accept the fact that the
state does not give everything for free (there are
things that you have to pay for). We often experience an
attitude in which the child is not a value: even though
the small child feels well, they do not bring him/her to
the day care because they rather buy cigarettes and
drink for themselves.
-
We often meet resistance from the part of the teachers:
they do not know this type of care, they reject it. The
reason is often envy and/or the lack of information.
-
Our general experience is that wherever we started to
offer our services (for there was demand for it, and we
found persons to do it), there those who resort to it
are satisfied: the parent could go back to work, the
children adapted well and fast to the small, familial
environments, and those who operate the day care, have
no unemployment problems any longer.
-
However, the above mentioned difficulties set us back
considerably. We are trying to deal with the situation:
we continuously inform everybody about our activities,
we work with the “open doors” method, we organize forums
and conferences so that people get to know us and our
work.
Our organization's primary clients/beneficiaries
-
Primary:
-
Those families who would like to take their
children to daycare (because the mother would
return to work and/or study)
-
Those women who are unemployed (we offer them
work, most often offering their services from
their own homes)
-
Secondary:
-
Those local governments who offer no or very few
places (day care, kindergarten, school day board)
-
Those employers who consider it important that
their employees go back to work after giving birth
(we can set up a family day care in the vicinity
of the workplace or the home of the employee that
can even be sponsored by the employer).
